Well well well. And I had thought to myself once upon a time, "I would never draw FFVII fanart," simply because I thought that it would be too troublesome (yes, Shikamaru's a man after my own heart), but hey, what'dya know? I was inspired! See it in all its sketchy glory! I'd say that one day it will be inked properly and colored, but I would be lying. However, let's all hope for the bright future, shall we? *prays for that tablet*
In any case, this is actually a scene from chapter 23 of the fanfiction Faith and Feather by the talented Rose Flame, or Cheloya (see her art here: [link]). If you can't tell, it's Aeris and Sephiroth. One day, I shall work up enough courage to actually draw Yuffentine, my actual favorite pairing of the fandom. *raises fist determinedly* Oh, and if you like Yuffentine, read the fanfic! I promise you won't be disappointed. Pencil on paper, camera-taken picture (that's why it's so funky), with references to several other pictures from the Internet. EDIT: Nothing much, I finally was able to clean the picture up better, so I put up the better-cleaned-up version. Enjoy! |

I am so pimping this when I get the next chapter done. Is that okay? XD; Oh my god. SO MUCH LOVE. I'm incoherent.
Thank you so very much! I love doing hair, and I look forward to the next time I draw Sephiroth again with his Glorious hair. *trails off into Lalaland* But really, if Aeris' hair at her ears are as thick as I make it out to be, her head would be hanging around her chest.
I've recently re-read Faith and Feather and since my drawing groove is coming back, I have so many ideas for fanarts! This just seems like a good place to start. I fiddled around with this a lot, actually. One, I always have trouble when drawing two people at the same time: scale issues. The first time I drew Aeris, she dwarfed Seph. XD And two, I wanted to keep the scene easy-going and understated (but it might not seem so to someone to see it first without knowing the story background), since their relationship (if there is one at all) is in the very early, early stage. Now it just looks like an old married couple, and it wouldn't be inappropriate if he's holding a newspaper. Married couple... Ahahahahahahahahahaha! (sorry I'm kinda delirious but your comments made me so happy!)
There's a chapter coming in the not-so-distant future?? Hallelujah, praise the Lord! *jumps around and counts down the days*

Scale issues are always really, really tricky for me, but I think you did a really good job on this one!
(The idea of Aeris and Sephiroth as an old married couple always makes me laugh and laugh. They'd make such a cute one. ...someone wrote something about that; I think they're in my favourites list. They have children and Sephiroth is refusing to go see a doctor about something. Hm. *goes to find that*)
The most people I managed to cram into one picture was three, and they looked like three separate picture randomly pasted together; no interaction at all.
Yesss, they make the perfect old married couple. I can picture it now: they would be watching Yuffie squabble at Vincent and Tifa and Cloud either still dancing around each other or being lovey dovey, all the while Sephiroth has a bored expression on his face and Aeris is smiling indulgently at them all. Wait, I'm getting mental image of wrinkled!Sephiroth, aaaarrghh! At least I have a bit of a grasp on his character, enough to be able to draw him, but Vincent, oh man, I nee more pictures to stare at; can't draw him just yet. *goes off to find fanart*

There's a lot of fabulous Vincent art around - I particularly suggest GlassShard's work. If you go into Misc. there's a link at the top in the text to the Mausoleum, and the vast majority of her FF7 work will be in there. (She's ShardGlass on devART.)
And yeah, interaction is really hard for me, too. XD; One day, though...
That pairing was completely unplanned on my part; I didn't expect them to just gravitate as much as they do. o.0;
And don't you dare regret that pairing! I love them so very much! They gave me the first fanart idea, actually. Oh, right, on that topic, what does Feather's lip tattoos really look like? Can I get a clear image or can I just wing it? And on which cheek is the tear drop tattoo? I've already gathered up references for Reeve, meager though my finds are. There is such a fanart shortage on him like you won't believe!
